Nitesh is a seasoned team player with the ability to manage or pinch-hit at any stage of a litigation, from the early stages of drafting/responding to a complaint, to discovery, dispositive motions, and trial. With over ten years of experience in both the US and India, Nitesh brings a unique blend of legal aptitude and cultural awareness to the table. He honed his legal knowledge and courtroom presence by second-chairing civil suits, arbitrations, and appeals during his tenure at a barrister’s chambers in India. Nitesh also assisted the Additional Solicitor General of India and represented the Government in its appeals before the Supreme Court, on issues of constitutional law, criminal law, and administrative law. After transitioning to the top securities and antitrust practices in the Bay Area, Nitesh worked directly with lead trial lawyers on establishing the factual narrative and themes of the case while advancing discovery, preparing for key witness and 30(b)(6) depositions, and developing expert analyses on issues of finance, economics, and policy.
Relying on the sum of these experiences, Nitesh applies a cross-disciplinary approach to offer pragmatic, business-savvy advice on even the most challenging and cutting-edge legal issues. Through strategic thinking and creative problem solving, Nitesh strives to achieve the most effective and efficient outcomes for his clients’ challenges, whether through negotiations or advocacy. Nitesh is committed to the pursuit of continuous learning, particularly in the fields of finance, technology, and media, and is passionate about creating impact by leveraging the legal system. Notable examples in this regard include in-depth legal analyses of emerging technologies like blockchain and cryptocurrency, and antitrust scrutiny of private equity and labour markets. In India, Nitesh represented a group of university professors in a successful writ petition that expanded access to expensive academic publications, by persuading the court to recognize a fair use exception under copyright law for educational purposes.
Beyond work, you’ll find Nitesh playing pick-up basketball, or performing standup comedy at an open mic.
